What are the rules – when do I need a covid test?

The current restrictions for travelling in Schleswig-Holstein:

  • Hotel stays for leisure reasons: no restriction relating vaccination status or negative covid test, no mask obligation
  • Gastronomy: no restriction relating vaccination status or negative covid test, no mask obligation



When and where can I get tested?

Schnelltest Büsum –

We have a test facility on our property. It is open 7 days a week from 11:00am til 5:00pm.

You can use the app „CovStop“ for registration and test results.

A test costs currently € 9,00.


What are the conditions for cancellation without any Covid regulations and what happens if the hotel needs to close due to Covid regulations?

For travel dates between April and October cancellation is free of charge until 14 days prior to arrival. From November til the end of March cancellation is free of charge until 7 days prior to arrival. Except christmas and new years eve. The 14 days cancellation applies.

Our apartments can be cancelled free of charge until 28 days prior to arrival.

If the hotel needs to close due to federal regulation for Covid prevention needs the hotel cancels your reservation free of charge.

If travelling is allowed but with restrictions our normal cancellation rules are applying. 


When are the restaurant and bar open?


Breakfast: daily 7:00am – 11:00am. No reservations.

External guests on request via our service.

Lunch: daily 12:30 – 2:30pm

Coffee & Cake: daily 12:30pm – 4:30pm

Dinner: daily 5:00pm – 9:00pm

Terrace: 5:00pm – 9:00pm (depending on the weather)


Schneiders bar:

Sunday – Thursday 5:00pm – 11:00pm

Friday – Saturday 3:00pm – 01:00am


Can I book a late check out with extra charges?

Your room is reserved for you until 10:30am. We offer a late check-out upon request and subject to availability.


Can I check in earlier?

Due to the current situation and the higher cleaning effort to meet the required cleaning standards, the cleaning time will take a little longer. Thats why we guarantee a check-in time at 3:30pm.

If you room is not ready by the time you arrive you can fill out the registration form. We will hand you your guest cards so you can have a look around town and the beach. We offer to call your mobile as soon as your room is ready for you to move in.


What is currently open?

Our pool and saunas are open to hotel guests following covid-hygiene-rules.


Where is the Küstenperle located?

The Küstenperle is located in Büsum - directly behind the dike at the Familienlagune (family lagune), also named Perlebucht (pearl bay). You can reach Büsum from the A23 coming from Hamburg (exit Heide West). To reach the pedastrian area of Büsum which is the city center you walk for about 20 minutes (1,5km). The distance to the train station is 2 km.  


Can we park at the hotel and what does it cost?

We charge € 5,00 per day and car. We have enough space for all hotel guest, so no reservation is needed. The gate opens automatically.

Altenatively you can park in the residential area around. Please note that parking there is highly frequented during the season.


Do you have car charging facilities?

On our parking lot we have two charging stations from the provider NewMotion.

You can order your personal charging card via the Shell Recharge App which ist available for IOS and Android. You need to use your own charging cabel.


What kind of limitations are expected due to the construction side next door?

Büsum continues to make itself beautiful and the area around Perlebucht is growing. A building with beach flats is being constructed on the neighbouring property of the Küstenperle. The end of the construction work is planned for March 2023. During the entire construction phase, disturbances in terms of visibility and noise are to be expected (depending on the wind direction), when one or the other hole is drilled or one or the other nail is hammered in.

We are in active contact with the builders and the construction company, but unfortunately we have no influence on their construction schedule and work plan.


Where can I reserve a beach chair?

If you would like to rent a beach chair when you are in Büsum you can meet the beach service daily from May til the end of September from 9:00am at the dike pavillions. Based on availability you can choose your beach chair and you pay by cash. You can also book a beach chair for you next trip there.


Can I bring my dog and what are the extra charges?

We are happy to accomodate you with your dog. Our hotel is dog friendly and we have special rooms for our guests with a dog. Please let us know you want to come with your dog in advance of your booking so that we can offer you the right room. 

In the interest of all guests we ask you to keep your dog on the lesh in the hotel at all times. For hygienic reasons your dog needs to stay at your room during breakfast. But after 1:00pm dogs are also welcomed in our restaurant.

We only allow one dog per room and charge € 15,00 per night.

We have 15 rooms in total in which we allow dogs. Categories: Standard room dike view (2x), side sea view (2x), sea view (1x), Comfort room dike view (1x), side sea view (3x), sea view (3x), Family room side sea view (1x), sea view (1x), wellness suite (1x).


Do you provide a shuttle service?

We do not provide a shuttle service. You can take a taxi from the Büsum train station which takes you to the hotel in just a few minutes. The costs are approxamitly € 8,00.


Is the reception 24 hours open?

Our reception is occupied 24 hours, 7 days a week. Please let us know if you arrive after 10:00 pm.


How can I book a table at the restaurant?

Due to a limited seat capacity we suggest to reserve a table in advance to avoid any disappointments.


How long in advance do I need to book half pension? Is it possible to change spontanously for a la carte if I booked half pension?

You can book our half pension (dinner) at least 3 days prior arrival. If you like to choose from our a la carte menue during your stay, please let the restaurant know one day before.

We serve a 3-course menu chosen for you by our chef. For the main course you can choose between fish, meat or a vegetarian alternative


Do you have any allergy friendly rooms and do you offer vegetarian/vegan/gluten free/lactose free food alternatives?

We offer special bedding for people suffering allergies and a lot of rooms in which dogs are not allowed.

Our regular menu in our restaurant Deichperle offers vegetarian options. If you have any allergies or intolerances let us know in advance so we can offer you suitable alternatives.


Where can I rent bikes for my vacation?

You can rent City bikes with us. We charge € 9,00 per day and bike or € 56,00 per week and bike.

If you choose to explore Büsum and surroundings a bit more comfortable, we also rent out E-Bikes for € 28,00 per day or € 175,00 per week.

Please note we only have limited numbers of bikes available.


Do you provide a room for bikes?

Please let us know in advance if you bring your own bikes. We have an extra room for bikes outside the hotel. We are happy to validate your room key for access to this room. We suggest to lock the bikes inside our bike room!

You can also charge the batteries of E-bikes in there.


How many people can sleep in one room?

Our family rooms & suites can occupy 2 adults and 2 children maximum. 1 child must be under 12 years. It is also possible to stay in these rooms with 3 adults and 1 child under 12 years.

Our 2-room-apartments can accomodate 2 adults and 1 child under 6 years maximum. In our 3-room-apartments is enough space for up to 4 adults.


Can I visit without a face mask?

Wearing a mask is no longer prescribed.

We recommend to make your requested appointments in advance. 


Are the rooms air conditioned?

For our location on the north sea we did not build in any air conditioning facilities. But we review the situation on a regular basis to act in the future if needed.
